Paramus, N.J. – 7/20/2010 – The National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) has introduced WorkPlan for Success™, a comprehensive business development program that puts into the hands of every Association corporate member the strategies, tactics, and tools for handling many industry business issues successfully.

Built upon the proven best practices revealed through NAPL’s industry-vanguard Management Plus System™, WorkPlan for Success™ includes guidelines, step-by-step instructions, and interactive applications for implementing the most effective management policies in every area of a 21st Century graphic communications company—from strategic planning and financial supervision to sales and customer service.

“We’ve taken our Management Plus™ Program knowledge, our NAPL Research Center studies, and the field experience of our Business Advisory Team members and combined them into a program that not only informs our members about what they can do to achieve greater profitability, but shows them how to do it and gives them the tools for doing so in their own company right now,” says Joseph P. Truncale, NAPL President and Chief Executive Officer.

“Our Management Plus™ program provides a framework of business best practices specific to our industry and our members,” says NAPL Senior Vice President William F. Woods Jr. “With WorkPlan for Success™ we have turned this knowledge into a living program that our members can access and apply whenever they want to, and more importantly, when they need to.

“Each of the program’s six sections begins with a short narrative on the business objective or best practice, followed by specific exercises, worksheets, tables, and charts that enable the user to interact with the concept,” Woods continues. “It’s not written in a textbook format, and much of it is presented in template form so that it can be tweaked to fit any company’s particular structure and specific needs.”

WorkPlan for Success™ is accessible via the members-only section of NAPL’s website and will be updated with new information and worksheets as needed. Interlaced through each section are case studies drawn from the NAPL Business Advisory Team files, detailing how similar issues were solved using the methods available in the interactive program. Users may download an entire section or select a separate pdf version of any individual chapter.

“WorkPlan for Success™ has been designed as a ‘do-it-yourself’ tool for our members, but we will help them get started with it by presenting free webinars in coming weeks to introduce various sections of the program, demonstrate the importance of different business concepts, and walk attendees through some of the exercises or worksheets,” says Woods. “Members will be able to interact with the program and talk with NAPL experts who will help familiarize them with how they can use WorkPlan for Success for maximum return. And, of course, our NAPL Business Advisory Team members are always available for additional assistance.”

“WorkPlan for Success™ will ultimately comprise more than a thousand pages of relevant, industry-specific management material that is easy to access and navigate,” says Truncale. “And as more content is created or new industry directions evolve, new chapters will be added or adjusted to meet members’ changing needs. We believe this new program is a dynamic and robust enhancement to the already substantial benefits of NAPL membership,”

The first two sections of WorkPlan for Success™ – Strategic Planning and Sales – are currently available on the NAPL website, The remaining four will be rolled out at intervals during the weeks prior to GRAPH EXPO 2010 in early October, where the entire program will be demonstrated for visitors to NAPL’s booth (2266).
